2007 NOTES

Thanks to all of you who came along last year and braved the elements (again!).

The race will be getting a reputation soon for not very friendly weather, but, as ordered by Crewkerne Running Club, the rain just about held off during the race itself. This meant you could enjoy the water, and the mud, and the hills . .  in ideal conditions. However, we did have one casualty out in the country, which put our first aid facilities to a real test for the first time, and we are pleased that with the help of the British Red Cross, some of our own marshals, the Race Director (Martin Cook) and the County ambulance service, the lady was safely delivered to Yeovil Hospital without too much delay. 

Our thanks go to all the course markers, marshals, and helpers at the finish who had to endure some pretty horrible weather conditions before, during and after the event.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Start and finish at Montacute House,
a National Trust property at Montacute, near Yeovil, Somerset

Approx. 10 miles, mostly off road.

Hilly and hard, but you really will enjoy it!

Ten carefully selected miles of multi-terrain up, down and around Ham Hill Country Park

Start and finish at Montacute House, with a spectacular finish along the West Drive.

Unique ham stone trophies and prizes in various categories.

All finishers will receive a `Full Monty’ Christmas Pudding.

Montacute House Restaurant and Gardens open.

Limited parking at Montacute House, especially if wet - please share transport and be prepared to park elsewhere if directed.

N.B. There are toilets, but no changing facilities or showers.
         Regret no dogs allowed.

Entry:    There is a strict limit of 250 runners and no entries on the day.
